What do we have to do to get the contact form working? I tested but an email never comes through. Do I need to install something else or configure settings somewhere?

Please check if your host supports sending email or not. You can check by creating new user, reseting password.
If it supports, please take a look at following modules https://www.drupal.org/project/smtp or https://www.drupal.org/project/mandrill and http://mailchimp.com/ to send email.
I was able to set up the module SMTP & it succesfully sent me an email, however, when I make a comment on the contact form, I never get the email. Do I need to set anything else up?

I am still unable to figure this out. I have tried with the contact module enabled and disabled and I still never recieve an email anywhere.

- Your server does not support sending mail. Thus, you need to use smtp of gmail. It means that you will use Gmail account to send email. We configured some neccessary settings, you please submit your gmail account in the form setting:http://www.technomics.net/admin/config/system/smtp
- If there's problem when sending email, you can check here https://support.google.com/mail/answer/14257?rd=1 for the reason

I entered in the gmail credentials but it still doesn't work. I initially got an email saying Sign-in attempt prevented. I then clicked on the link you provided and set up 2 step verification and created an app password. I entered the app password into the password feild, but no email ever comes through. Do you have any other suggestions?
