Parallax One behaves differently accros browsers

Hi,

I've got a strange problem; accross different browser the first Paralax part (after About and before Resume) is in FireFox first gray while if you slide slightly further the picture comes forward what is supposed to be. Also when i pick Google Chrome, no problems; the Paralax effect is perfectly shown. But when i pick Edge browser (i know; terrible, but you neven know who uses it :) ), the parallax effects is totally wasted; it shows like 4 time's in the same place... verry strange effect. IE 9 is OK, just like Chrome.

Do you know what seems the problem here? I really don't have a clue.

Hi,

That parallax uses cover image which has great height. (example: our Chulan theme use image has height of 5000px).

Also, you can try to open file script.js (sites/all/themes/md_chulan/js/front)

line 424 (

 $('.parallax').parallax("70%", 0.3);

and change 0.3 to other values.

Ok; great! what would be the advise for the dimensions when working with Paralax backgrounds? Then i can change my background accordingly :)

We highly recommend that you should use images which has height from 3000 px :)

Hi Phuonght,

I changed my background of paralax 1 to one that has dimension of 2500px X 2500px.

But still i have this 'strange' issue on paralax 1. But on Paralax 4 i don't have this issue.

Also this reside only in Firefox, not for example in chrome.

Do you also know why in my browsers the Paralax 1 shows only the 'top' of the image, but when i slide the window to something smaller to mimick a mobile device, the 'full' picture is shown?

Did you use FTP over SSH?

Also what is your Public IP that you connect from ? I've got a ACL on it because the whole world connects to it :)

Then i can exclude it and give you access.

We use FTP over SSH also, can access FTP but only see null folder. Our IP: 117.5.91.133.

Have you tried to change value 0.3 at line 424 in file script.js as my comment #2? Our developer can not change/ edit files in your FTP. He just changed to another image. You can check if it works on mobile.

I saw the image was changed and works correctly on the my mobile phone.

I checked it again in Firefox (private and not private mode), but there the same results shows; first gray and when you almost past the image, it shows up.

This behaviour is not seen in Chrome, Internet Explorer 11 and 9, Microsoft Edge browser.

I also checked the permissions in the FTP folder; i fixed it again and tested it; it works now :)

I will change the value as you suggested to test it.

Have you tried to value 0.3 to another value? We recommend 0.7 or 1. We can not change anything in your FTP so please help us check with new values.

Sorry for the inconvience; i tested it myself with SFTP with the same user; and i changed the value to 0.7 and to 1.
Please let me know the path if it doesn't work with changing settings; i will do my best to resolve it as quickly as possible.

I changed it to 1 and now the Paralax4 is OK again (Jeeeej! :) )

But Parallax 1 is still 'broken'. Also i noticed that when i zoom out (at 80%), the parallax 1 works as it supposed to. (resolution is 1920x1080 of my monitor)

When i zoom at 100% (so no zoom at all), it is broken again. Only this appears to be in FireFox; other browsers work fine.

HI Phuonght,

Where should i add it ? in Appearance, MD Chulan theme, Custom code, Custom CSS code?

There i already have something standig:

.text-ticker-holder{
width: 100%;
z-index: 999;
}

Must i paste your code directly beneath it ? Also, how come that this is 'broken' suddenly? It worked before without any hassle, and suddenly it doesnt work anymore in FireFox; is due to updates of FireFox, how it behaves on certain code or something?

Sorry, please try to add at the end of file /sites/all/themes/md_chulan/css/front/style.css. We tested with latest version of Firefox on Windows already.

I did what you saide; for certain i also dit this on the /sites/www.franken.pro/themes/md_chulan/css/front/style.css.

In FireFox i see that the Parallax 4 is 'static' and Parallax 1 is grey.

In chrome it works as it suppose to.

Hi,

I'm using Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit at 1920x1080.

I also used Windows 7 Pro 64-bit at 1920x1200.

Also both Chrome (latest version) and FireFox (latest version) show Parallax 4 'static'; its not 'parallaxing' (if that is a word though :) )

Parallax 1 is not shown on both OS's within FireFox. In Chrome it is shown, but also static; no parallaxing effect.

Sorry to say this; but it still doesnt work.

What i did from my part is remove the Custom CSS code (to show the video in full instead of only on the right side)

Maybe this was a issue; also i changed the script.js of line 424 to its defaults; 70% at 0.3

I disabled caching within drupal (configuration -> performance).

But still the issues still exists.

Also i noticed the following in detail:

Windows 10
- IE 11.0.10240.16724 works fine; although i must reload 3 times the site; it shows everything like it should; parallax is also working correct
- Google Chrome 49.0.2623.112 m in InCognito mode; it is not working as expected; the about button doesnt work anymore, also the whole about section is 'cut' off. But Parallax is working well though :) speaking about the rest; the rest is sort of broken :(
- FireFox 45.0.1 in PrivateMode: same issue where it al started with; Paralax 1 and 4 not working as expected; About section is correctly shown, Also the About button works as expected.
- Microsoft Edge browser: a Mix of issues with Chrome and FIreFox; Section About is broken; also button fails to work. Paralax 1 is static but Parallax 4 is working correctly.

Windows 2012 R2:
- IE; same result as Windows 10
- Chrome; same result as Windows 10
- FireFox; same result as Windows 10
- Microsoft Edge; same result as Windows 10

Windows 7 Pro
- IE; Same result
- Chrome; same result
- FireFox; everything works as it supposed to; Parallax 1 and 4 working correct; About works, About button works.

IE is OK
Chrome; same issue as before; about button and about section don't work anymore. Parallax 1 and 4 are OK
FireFox; Parallax 1 and 4 are not working as expected. about section is OK and button also.
Microsoft Edge: same issue; about section is broken, Parallax 1 and 4 static.
