How can I get rid of the skin icon (diamond) and the circle icon below it that overlays the front page video?? (and at the same time overlay the video with the site name in bold letters??

Do you mean the preloader?
You can disable it in admin/appearance/settings/md_magnum > Design > Preloader
So is there a way to change from the diamond icons, images? to another custom image, anywhere the diamond appears generally? Thanks.

It is a logo. Please go to theme settings /admin/appearance/settings/md_magnum > tab "Design" > "Preloader", you could upload your own preloader logo there and change/edit logo of site in "General settings".
