Editing template for basic page

Basic pages appear as blogs with "posted by username" and the posted date with the title, as well as the newer and older buttons at the bottom. Which is not really appropriate for a static page.

Is there any way to change the template for a basic page?

Hi,
We do not support 2 node types: article and basic page
But you can create file node--page.tpl.php, and find the reference here https://drupal.org/node/1089656
