Using 7.x-2.7, I had several slides all with the same text style ie colour (white) and size (36px). In admin/structure/md-slider/2/edit everything looked ok but in the resulting slideshow my colour and font size were only applied to the first slide ie in the later slides the text had no or the default CSS ie black and small. Looking in firebug I think the CSS for the later slides was missing. Luckily I could work round this by creating my own CSS file to add the missing CSS using the selectors for the first slide that I could see in firebug ie .md-layer-2-1-1 etc
