Any chance to change the space between rows?

Hi,
I have a menu layout with two rows. The second row has two columns:

When I roll over the corresponding top level menu item and the menu appears there is much space between the first and the second row (about 50px). The first row is only used for displaying a header. Is there any way to decrease the space between rows? I use a custom css style.
