Adding a header with background image to a new content type

Hi,

I made a new content type with awe content which worked out nicely.
Unfortunately I can't get the header working in the new content type.

I first tried adding a header via the awe content editing features but had no luck, checking existing templates they also don't have the header from awe content (admin/awe-content/templates).

So I figured I have to add the header via Design Settings (admin/appearance/settings/md_make) --> Pages.

  • Page content title (sounds like the perfect choice) --> unable to create a new page within this section

  • Page Title --> created a new title there for one new content of the new type, but it does not get displayed on that particular page

Please let me know how to add a header which then gets used on all new content of a particular content type.

Thanks a lot!

Cheers
BJ

Hi,

Till now, our Make theme has no function "adding header for content type". If you would like to use, you could send us your site url, admin account and FTP account. We would like to help you.

Please remember to check "Private message" for security reason :)

I assume that once the page is online more concent types might be required.

Any chance you can send me a short description on how to add the header like in the blog content type to the template?

Thanks Cindy. Do I need to change the page.tpl.php only here:

sites/all/themes/md_make/templates/page

Or in any other folder?

Anyways, after changing the files you sent in the according folders I have a header on each content type --> AWESOME JOB WELL DONE! :)

If you don't mind I have a small improvment request:

- make a checkbox (or what ever you think works best) to enabel / disable the header for each content tyspe, just in case theres a content type one really does not want a header for

- changing the background image on one of those content types via design settings does not affect the content itself --> please make this work so I don't only have a header but also can change the background image to my liking

But again, great job with the quick response!

Hi,

Yes, please update file page.tpl.php in folder sites/all/themes/md_make/templates/page

Thank you very much for your suggestion.

- About content type basic, you can edit node and check Not Header Section in Pulbishing Options
About other content types, you have to configure in theme settings, set <none> for title, the the header section background will be remove

- Do you mean that you want to have header section background without the title? We follow the design - Header Title Background, so it is impossible
