Canonical link is a relative file

An SEO review of our site has shown that the canonical link is a relative file. This should not be the case!

The $base_url variable is set in /default/settings.php.

How does one correct this problem?

Dear Cindy,

We have used the theme for about 10 days - since the customization was performed for us by your own organization. I have informed Neo immediately about the problems we discovered upon going live, via Skype and by email. Unfortunately, we don't get any response.
