Strange error after core update

Hi, I have strange error, I don't know what happen? Someone can help ASAP with that? 

The erros is connected with MD van theme : Error: [] operator not supported for strings in md_van_links__nav_mainmenu() (line 212 of /manx/sites/all/themes/md_van/inc/front/function.theme.inc).

I put my site in maintenance mode because this error is appearing very often. Please help me fix that ASAP :/

Hi, I changed PHP to 5.6 and is working! :-)
