I need to be able to insert links into header objects. I am happy with either creating an entirely new header object, or with modifying your existing object. However, I have not had much luck trying to implement your documentation on the matter.

In documentation, you can please take a look at section "For Developer" > "How to create an object for Awecontent" and "How to edit available object in Awecontent". we do not support customization queries base on policy.
However we recommend that you can use HTML object, just need to add tag HTML and link.

As I said above, I did not find the documentation terribly helpful and the custom HTML object does not fit our use-case. I would like more in-depth information on creating a new object.
