Hi,
In your site, "resgiter" function is enable so you get mails. If you don't like, please disable it.

Please go to admin/config/people/accounts to disable "register"

Base on permissions of each account that you accept, user can do different things with account. After successfull register, user has roles authenticated by default. You can check user's permission by going to admin/people/permission.
You can accept the register in admin/people.
