We're about to start planning implementation of MD Menu on our production site. One thing that has come up was a possibility to add a search field/block as a menu item, so it becomes a part of the top menu row.

This means that, as we use sticky menu at the top, a search box could be sitting on, for instance, the right hand side, next to a menu item/tab. it would also mean users won't have to click or hover over an item to see the search box.

is this possible? if so how can it be done? 

I have not found any way to add form fields or blocks as main menu items.
